Thirteen on Thursday

Warming up on a Winter Run

1. Hot Chilli Socks TM

2. Helie Hanson long underwear

3. Medium weight running pants (with reflective areas)

4. Layered wicking tops

5. Wind vest

6. Winter weight running jacket

7. Neck cowl

8. Headband

9. Toques & mittens (warmer than wearing gloves)

10. Optional scarf

11. Running belt worn under your jacket to keep your sports drink from freezing

12. Check direction of wind, run a shorter route

13. Ten minute rule, if you’re not warmed up after ten minutes of running, head home.

Life's fun if you don't weaken, enjoy your journey, one step at a time!

Hugs,

Lily

Great list that tells me it has got to be seriously cold where you are running, girl. {brrrrr!}

I laughed at # 4 because I read *layered WICKED tops* rather than *wicking*. heh!

ooooh wicked tops, you gals are such a tease. I like the way your mind works blondie XD

Unfortunately -6F/-21C would mean the wicked tops would be well layered over LOL

And yeah, at those temps, could you really warm up in 10 minutes? I would rather watch golf on tv and see some sunshine and green grass LOL

Mittens are definitely warmer than gloves. Gloves isolate and each finger has to fend for itself. In mittens they benefit from the buddy system and share the heat. Not unlike snuggly with a "buddy" in front of a fire and sipping wine...

Yes, sometimes I'd sooner be buddying up in front of the fire, sipping wine in a "Wicked" top, but alas, I'm out freezing my ass.

hehehehe
