Long Weekend, Running, Pollen and Rain...

The sun has just risen and it looks like a glorious day will be upon us today. I have to get my run in and then I'll be fighting off the black flies and mosquito's as I dig in and get my hands dirty in the garden for the first time this year. I love my garden's and have been really looking forward to getting back into the dirt....

This is our long May weekend, Victoria Day is on Monday. Usually this is on or close to May 24, but for some reason this year everything seems to be early.

The pollen from the tree's is so bad this year that my car has been covered with thick yellow pollen every morning when I head off to the office.

I've had to wash my car about three times this week, one car wash actually blew my wiper blades off!! Won't go back to that place again, hahahaha....now I just need to get inside the car and clean out all of the winter salt stains and gorp that accumulates from your snow boots.

With the all trees and shrubs blooming, I actually had to take an allergy pill last night so I could stop sneezing and get some sleep. Hopefully all this floating yellow dust will be gone by next weekend.

Tomorrow is our last long run before my very first ever MARATHON, we are running 16K, which is 9.94 miles Marcy!!!!

I just checked the weather for Kanata-Ottawa, and yes it is in imperial units for my south of the border friends....they now say it is suppose to rain all weekend.

With that said, I'm going to finish up my breakfast and get out for my run while the sun is shining....

Have a great SAFE, happy, long weekend everyone!

Happy Victoria Day!!

The long 24 weekend (yes, as in a case of beer).....

Life's fun if you don't weaken,

Lily

It's 9:13 and still sunny, but I am going to go get my bedding plants before it clouds over.

Enjoy the garden and I bet you're back from your run already eh?

Last long run before your marathon. WooooHoooo!!!

I've never washed my car 3 times in one week. I *might* wash mine one time in 3 weeks. LOL. It's usually dirty.

Hi Girlfriend,

I hope your run went well this morning and you managed to get it in before the rains came.

Take care of those allergies. An unusually severe attack of the same sent my girl to urgent care where she walked away with steroids and an inhaler. sigh. Must have been the visit that did the trick though as she has been fine since getting the prescriptions filled. Not a single puff on the inhaler.

You are gonna rock your Marathon next week!

love and hugs,

Enjoy your long run before you start tapering. I hate those yellow stuff on my car, too! I have been taking Claritin which helps quite a bit. I do have trouble sleeping when allergy is around. I am excited for you to participate in your first Marathon. Have a superb weekend.

I hope your last long run went well! And yes, we have the pollen thing going on too, although it is settling down here. My car is filthy too, inside and out. I hate washing my car though! Enjoy your long weekend! Ours is next weekend.

Hey, thanks for visiting my blog! Of course I don't mind if you link me.

I went to uni at St Lawrence, an hour from Ottawa, so all your photos are making me a little nostalgic! But then you mention rain all weekend and I'm glad I live in the tropics now!

Have a great long weekend, and good luck prepping for your marathon!!

ROFLMAO! You're so sweet to think of me :-) I will now remember this conversion forever LOL (Seriously, now that you've brought it to my attention hehe)

It's been the same way with the pollen here too. The kids like to draw pictures on the car. Gross. LOL
