Much to my surprise...

... it is still snowing, why this surprises me, I'm not sure! After all it is fall in Canada! Not even winter yet!!

Instead of running outside this week I've been taking advantage of the gym that I've being making donations to for the past year.

The Twenty Minute torture test is starting to become a little easier, it surprises me how unfit I actually am. Even though I have thighs similar to the T-Rex, my upper body is sadly lacking in any semblance of strength....so on to the torture mill I go, whoot I'm up to 25 pounds on some of the machines and 55 pounds on others, guess what I'm working out at 55 pounds? .... yes, my legs. I'm actually having a blast at the gym Mr. Muscle is there lifting some godforsaken weight and grunting and shouting as he does it....mild entertainment to say the least.

The mindless time on the dreadmill is actually helping me prioritise my life and it allows me to reflect on my "other business".

Which by the way is going swimmingly, and much to my surprise, I stopped on my way home from the gym and picked up the latest copy of " O " magazine....(believe me, I never watch Oprah), but for some reason like the siren's song, I picked up a copy and yes, there on the inside back cover.....yes ladies, is an advertisement for the product of my home based business! I must say the selection looks stunning on the model!! Check it out!

This will not be a long post, but Lily and I would like very much to wish our "south of the border" friends and fellow bloggers a very Happy Thanksgiving. Please take the time to give thanks and blessings to those who are in far away lands, serving to protect our countries, they too would love to be home surrounded by family and friends.

Have a great day everybody!

Life's fun if you don't weaken,

Lily

Aw, is that your kitty? Great photo.

It would be nice to be American on a day like today, wouldn't it? ;)

"I've been taking advantage of the gym that I've being making donations to for the past year." Ha ha!!! That is how I've been with so many of my gym memberships in the past! I feel less guilty about giving money to the Y since I go regularly to swim, but I really don't do much with weights there at the moment. Keep up the good work at the gym though - your strength will come back quickly I'm sure!

Sorry to hear about all your snow, but please....don't send any here!

and thanks for the Thanksgiving wishes. :-)

I love the "making donations to the gym" thing. I think too many of us get memberships, intend to go regularly, and then just keep paying for nothing. It's great that you are using the gym and I hope you find it fun and interesting enough to keep it up through the cold months at least. Cheers!

The solution to not feeling foolish about the gym donations, is to join a gym that is close to where you meet up with your running friends ... and then use the lockers, showers & saunas ... Besides upper body strength training hurts; That is why those guys are always grunting & screaming!

The gym is great once you get some routine! (Can you tell I work for a fitness company?). I don't do much cardio in the gym but I do enjoy the strength training. Good for you!

I think I am going to switch gyms. The one at work is cheap but not practical... and there is no pool.

Good on you for getting it done with the weights.

Yep, I have to pay for my gym next week - what a chunk out of the budget. Every year I think, this year I am going to go at least twice a week, no fail.... But it is indispensible on a bad weather day, so I do use it.

Hahaha. Very well put, Laurel.

Is this Lily in the window? She looks lighter in colour than what I thought she was. Great photo.

Keep up the good work in the gym.

Hello! Nice post - I had to chuckle at the mention of "Mr Muscle." Sounds familiar. If you're bored, wander to my blog and find my post about people at the gym! And by the way, after reading your post about your weather, I feel much better about mine. =)

Keep it up at the gym. Getting stronger again is a priority for me in the winter season. That and dropping those fat pounds. Should work since muscle burns fat faster.

Dreadmill. Only made slightly less dreadful with a sweaty muscle man making sounds like he's passing kidney stones.

You keep your snow to yourself! Some things are simply not meant to be shared :)
