It's killing me all these hours spent in front of the computer. My butt is bulging and turning into the shape of my chair, along with my thighs.
My eyes are becoming one and turning square from staring at the monitor for so many hours.
The running hours have really gone by the wayside and I'm more than a little disappointed that my training for the two half marathons has really, really slipped away from me.
The countdown is on and I'm working overtime again...
The good news is, I have a job!!!
This weekend I'm having to cut back my distance because I just haven't been able to keep up with my mileage, so, with that said, I'll be slowly upping the mileage right up to the Army Run...a little ass backwards, but it'll work. I totally respect the Half Marathon distance, so no real taper for me. Taper will come after the Toronto Half on September 28th, then I can rest up for a bit.
Hitting the gym, cycling and swimming will be part of my new programme, that way I'll be ready for 2009 Triathlons....
Have a great weekend everyone, good luck to those competing, cycling, running, tri-ing and having fun in general!
Life's fun if you don't weaken,
Lily

Have a great weekend, Lily! Working hard gives us an excuse to go run!!
Have a good weekend!
I think we're in the same boat Missy. Wanna row together?
Don't forget to breath and enjoy your weekend.
I know that working long hours does take your time away from your training. That is one thing I cannot stand. Its always about "balancing" your schedule.
Have a GREAT weekend!
It's hard to even have work + life balance... work + life + fitness balance... pssht... ya. I'm with you girly!
I love your comment about your butt turning into the shape of the chair. Now I know what happened to mine!!!!
Great read. Thanks. Have a great weekend.
You have enough mileage under your belt that you'll be fine for your 1/2's!
Hopefully work will settle down soon, though.
Enjoy the weekend!
I think we're having the same week...
Hang in there...and have a great weekend.
my friends and i call it "corporate butt" from too much sitting - butt turns wide and flat from the chairs. GAH. i feel you on sitting TOO much!!
have a great weekend!
I'm having the same kind of work days lately! I keep getting up earlier and earlier just to get time for my workouts! But it is definitely easier than all the workouts I was doing 2 weeks ago. I still have a lot of work to do before that half.
Have a great weekend Lily!!
You will do great in your upcoming races!!
Michelle
Your label of "square ass" made me laugh!
Start doing some 5am work outs. Oh soooo sweet. NOT!
Have a good weekend. Thanks for stopping by too, the eye is much much better.
I feel much better now, knowing someone else is kicking their ass kicker at work. I mean, uh sorry to hear, HA!
I think there is something in the air -- it's been that way over here, too. Too much work, too little movement.
Hey -- on the butt turning into the shape of your chair -- one thing that I do is stand up while working on the computer. I have my laptop on a stand that is just higher than waist height. I feel like I keep better posture (less slumping) and I can do calf raises or kickbacks or whatever (you know, when I feel inspired...) since I am standing, not sitting.
i'm looking at your animated thanksgiving announcement.... do you think she'll ever catch the turkey? looks like good exercise! have a great weekend!
Your butt may be the shape of your chair, but it's still 4.82% smaller!!
Nice job on the weight loss.
If you can get to 10miles, I think you can do the first half well enough and keep training for the second one and make that your goal race.
Cross training sounds like a good plan too. :-)
Ooohhh I'm liking the new look!
Can't they just pay you to sit around and do nothing? :P
Like your new look. Don't work too hard!!
any excuse to not run with me !!!! Okay, just kidding, but you do know that we miss your company eh?
You have been changing your layout quite a bit lately and I really like this one. I hope you had a great weekend, too. Same here last week: too much work and I couldn't face the computer after hours. It's Sunday night now and I finally have time and a clear enough head to catch up on all my bloggosphere friends happenings ... :-)
I wish you a good start into the new week.
It's amazing how we're conditioned to believe that having a soul-destroying job is a "good" thing... I'm not saying yours is soul-destroying, but aren't they all in some way? Also, I don't have a utopian solution and am glad to be working myself, but I have my moments when work just gets too in the way. Hope things settle down for you and you're able to get back to the training!
all your talk about running has given me the itch...
i'm out the door...
love your thanksgiving turkey chasing thingy
Thinking about 2009 race season has already happened for me!
