Three More Sleeps!

Utica Boilermaker in three more sleeps. I wasn't getting too inspired until this morning when:

  • an excerpt from Jeff Galloway’s Marathon You Can Do It! (Shelter Publications, 2002), hit me in the face.

  • last years pictures, I went through them in a slide show ~ too cool.

  • there are only three more sleeps!!

Unbeknown to me, I was still suffering from post race let down!!

Who'd have thunk it!! It's been six weeks since the marathon and I've been running as a pace person for a Half Marathon clinic, but I have to admit, I was going through the motions and not "feeling the love". The feeling I was experiencing is exactly what was described in Jeff Galloway's excerpt I was reading...whew, I'm NORMAL, well, as normal as I get!

The pictures from last year are great and even though some of the Wooo Hooo's aren't going to be with us this year due to other commitments....we will be thinking of them, especially during the race.

Who could forget....

ps, I intentionally left out some exciting photo's of the race so I wouldn't spoil it for any Utica newbies!!!

Okay, is this "# More Sleeps" a Canada thing or something?? That's the same thing the Canadian we got our dog from told me to tell my kids when it was getting close (i.e. "tell the kids only 2 more sleeps until your puppy comes home.") Never heard that before until then. And then now. Good Luck!

ROFLMAO but you did throw in the "Hill" is that supposed to be a warning?

Good luck on your race! I'm betting it will be a hot one. That too has been one of those races I've wanted to do for years. Who knows what next year will bring??

I'm getting excited for you now! Have a great time (which I'm sure you will!).

I used to tell the kids "and a wake up" i.e. two more days and a wake up

the sleeps/wake up thing avoids confusion of is today one of the days? or do you count starting from tomorrow? Is the "day of" one of the days to be counted? so would that be 2.5 days etc.

3 sleeps is very definitive.

I grew up in WI and my kids in AK. I have no idea if it is a "northern" thing or what. Also, didn't they use that method in The Muppet Christmas Carol? Only one more sleep 'til Christmas.

LOL

No runners are normal. Ijust took two hours off work to do weights. I hate weights. (Don't ask.)

Have a wonderful time! I look forward to a full race report.

As soon as you put those runners on and hit the road you'll feel the love again. :-) Have fun. Can't wait to read everything about it.
