Three Things Thursday

Life sure has its ups and downs, my friend who was air lifted from Florida last week has been given less than three months to live, her brain tumor is very aggressive and has grown 5cm within four days...Saturday will be her 80th birthday and knowing that she has lived an extremely long and adventurous life doesn't make it any easier, but I know she wouldn't want to linger incapacitated and in pain.

  • Our 1st Annual Winter Wooo Hooo Tri was an absolute scream!  Complete with swag bags, personalised team bibs and a whole lot of laughter.  Although trying to get this many women together on a particular day is like herding cats, we did it and had a blast.  The weather couldn't have been better and yes, we did have enough snow to snowshoe and crosscountry ski.  (report and photo's will be coming).

  • Why is it that the guys in this office insist on coming to work when they are sneezing, coughing AND throwing up???  What's with that??  Needless to say, I'm sick again because they come to my desk looking for sympathy, all the while sneezing, blowing their nose and throwing their tissues into MY wastebasket, telling me to stay away from them because they are contagious - trust me I'm not your mother nor your wife, you won't get sympathy from me ~ GO HOME!!

  • The weather has been absolutely gorgeous and uncharacteristic for this time of year, so I have been taking advantage of it and getting out on the bike.  I haven't had the opportunity to get my clipless pedals adjusted to my shoes yet, so I'm still a "clip virgin".  Luckily I wasn't clipped in the other day.  I went out cycling with my neighbour who I'm going to do the MS Bike Tour with in August.  We had a super ride and as we were heading home, her front tire went off the pavement onto the shoulder of the road, no big deal since she has hybrid tires, but she sort of panicked and tried to force her tire back onto the pavement, lost her balance and started to fall off. As she was hitting the pavement I jammed on my brakes and I couldn't head for the ditch nor the road, luckily I got stopped and didn't really run into her with any great force, however, as she tried to get up while we were still sort of tangled up she started to lift her bike up and scratched the front fork of Blizzard.   The good news is, neither one of us was injured (well other than her pride).   Ahhhh, the first crash of the season!
Life's fun if you don't weaken,

Lily
